Evaluation of a project that fosters creativity in young children at cultural institutions

Short description

The project “Kunst und Spiele” brings together cultural institutions with preschools and elementary schools and helps them to strengthen and further expand their early childhood cultural education activities. The Robert Bosch Stiftung provides financial resources as well as time and space for the development and testing of new formats and ways of cultural participation for the youngest visitors. An important part of the project is quality assurance and lively exchange of ideas between the project’s participants (realized in nationwide network-meetings, process support, training etc.).

During the first period of “Kunst und Spiele” between 2013 and 2015 ten arts and cultural institutions receive support. These institutions can make use of further support during the second period between 2015 and 2017 to implement their developed ideas. Six additional institutions will be supported during the second period.

The evaluation’s goal is to gather data on the effect of the program and its achievements of objectives as well as support future development.

A mix of qualitative and quantitative methods ensures that all questions relevant to the evaluation are dealt with. Besides desk-top research we will conduct round tables with cultural educators and pedagogues, interviews, questionnaire surveys, participatory observations etc.
