COCO lab
Evaluation of the ongoing exhibition Conscious Consumer Laboratory "COCO lab" at the Austrian Gesellschafts- und Wirtschaftsmuseum
The aim of the evaluation is to examine the intended effects of the COCO lab as well as to question the structures, activities and processes of the project in connection with the effects.
A theory-based evaluation approach forms the basis for the empirical data collection. Along the program theory, the impact assumptions of the COCO lab are related to the implementation activities and the results achieved with target groups. Complex relationships between project goals/impact assumptions, various intentions/activities, and impacts become transparent and communicable with stakeholders. Potential and unintended effects can also emerge. The aim is to make empirically substantiated statements about effects and cause-effect relationships in the COCO lab.
The evaluation design builds on a dynamic sequence of five phases:
- Phase 1 includes mission clarification and exploration of impact/impact assumptions, analyzing documents and conducting initial exploratory observations.
- Phase 2 involves the development of a preliminary impact model
- Phase 3 comprises the main part of data collection, which is conducted multi-methodally. Observations, before/after surveys, participatory workshops, and interviews will be conducted.
- Phase 4 involves validation of the impact relationships together with the COCO lab team.
- Phase 5 focuses on final analysis, reporting, and presentation of results.
