(Culture) Development Funds Project
Evaluation of the (Culture) Development Funds Project within the framework of the Ta'ziz Partnership
Since 2011, the Goethe-Institute has implemented more than 100 projects in Sudan, Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Libya, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq and Egypt within the framework of the Ta’ziz partnership, with funding from the german foreign office. The overall objective of these activities is to support democratization and reform processes in the North Africa/Middle East region. The subject of the evaluation is the development fund approach on the basis of the four (cultural) development fund projects: “Cuture Academy NANO,” “Action Stage Iraq,” as well as “New Spaces Transforming Sudan.”
Method
Mayne’s contribution analysis was chosen as the methodological approach. It formulates plausible impact chains on the basis of a theory of change and thus verifies the effects and potentials of the various measures. In addition to a document analysis, interviews with different groups of actors and an online survey were used.
