Fit for the German Labor Market (FIMA)
Evaluation based on the Theory of Change according to the Goethe Institute's Kultur wirkt! approach
The project supports young adults from Mexico, Colombia, and Brazil who wish to migrate to Germany for work or vocational training. Participants receive assistance in preparing for everyday life and work in Germany by learning the language and obtaining the necessary certificates.
Participants receive free language courses including language exams (A1 and A2), regional and intercultural preparation, job application training, homework supervision, professional support from the Federal Employment Agency and the International Placement Services (ZAV), as well as offers from the Alumniportal Deutschland.
The evaluation will review the achievement of objectives at the output and outcome levels, as well as survey short-term effects and present a plausibility assessment of long-term effects on the target group and at the societal level. To this end, a needs analysis of participants and employers will be conducted. The accompanying evaluation also focuses on the project design and structure, as well as ongoing processes and transfer possibilities. Recommendations for optimizing the project will also be developed.
The data collection focuses on qualitative methods, complemented by secondary data analyses and online surveys of participants and employers.
