KinderKunstLabor St. Pölten
Begleitforschung des KinderKunstLabor für Zeitgenössische Kunst in St. Pölten
The accompanying research of the KinderKunstLabor St. Pölten examines children’s engagement with contemporary art. An explorative, qualitative approach allows us to give space to the different dimensions of children’s experiences and to approach them scientifically. Experiences that children have in individual exhibitions of the KinderKunstLabor are recorded, with a particular focus on contact and the network of relationships to and with art objects. To this end, the following question is at the forefront – across all empirical surveys of the accompanying research:
“How do young children experience contemporary art at the KinderKunstLabor St. Pölten and how do they engage with it?”
The aim of EDUCULT is to choose qualitative research methods that focus on children’s experiences as well as those that capture child-centered perspectives. In addition, the findings are reflected on in an exchange with the staff of the KinderKunstLabor and mutual suggestions for learning and further development processes are created.
