CURRENT

Within the research, 80 publications from the Austrian and international field were analysed in relation to the debate on impact. In the report, the demands and challenges for cultural institutions and research were discussed and four good practice examples were presented. This presentation should help the NÖKU to identify its own strategy of research and qualitative further development of cultural education.

Literature analysis on the impact of art and culture education for children

Study to survey the state of research

The reason for the literature review is the desire to professionally develop and strengthen art and cultural education for children and young people in Lower Austria on the basis of scientific findings.

Within the framework of the literature review, the effects of art and cultural education in art institutions on children and young people will be investigated. Reported research results will be critically investigated, and the possibilities and limits of research into effects will be discussed. The results will help to identify gaps in the research.

Method:

EDUCULT is collecting national and international research results on art education’s and cultural enrichment’s effect on children. The focus is on studies and evaluations that deal with artistic aspects of mediation processes. After a clear preparation, a review and prioritisation will take place together with the NÖKU team.
