At the end of 2021, the evaluation of the OeAD's "More than Bytes" program was completed. The evaluation has clearly shown that arts education projects can contribute to the acquisition of digital media skills. The results were presented to the OeAD representatives and discussed together.
The research design aims to examine the thematic focus for its effects and results with regard to the acquisition of digital competencies. Subsequently, recommendations for optimization possibilites will be drafted on the basis of the results.
The methodogical framing of the evaluation comprises a mixed-methods design. In a first step, theoretical data obtained through a document analysis will be analyzed with regard to the underelying research questions. In addition, data and results of the internal evaluation of the OeAD are taken into account in answering the research question. In a second step, an online-survey will be conducted with cultural professionals who implemented workshops within the framework of the thematic focus. In addition, focus groups with cultural professionals and teachers will be conducted. In a final step, there will be workshops with the students themselves, in order to finally allow participating students to have their say.
