The evaluation started in January 2025 with a joint clarification of the mission and objectives with both foundations. Qualitative and quantitative surveys and analyses will be carried out until June 2025.
The “Relevant Museum” started in 2019 as a two-day symposium in Hamburg. Since 2020, it has been organised as a collaborative programme in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. In 2025, employees from 18 museums are part of the programme. Annually changing experts curate impulses, collegial advice is provided via digital communication channels and a modular toolbox is also being developed.
The questions relate to the course of the programme to date, the added value for the participants and the museums, the development of skills and the promotion of innovation in museum work. The evaluation is intended to support joint reflection and serve the strategic impact orientation of the foundations.
In addition to interviews and focus groups with programme participants, an online survey will be directed at all current and previous participants.
