Concept development for the evaluation and monitoring of the Fourth Division for Art Education at Theater Basel
With the development of the Fourth Division, a new space for art education is being created at Theater Basel. This is intended to act as a strategic hub both externally and internally and to stimulate change. In order to be able to determine, define, continuously evaluate and adapt emerging processes that are target-oriented, EDUCULT supports Theater Basel in including evaluation in the concept from the very beginning.
Dialogical methods are used for scientific support with a focus on the project’s logic. The aim is to develop an evaluation concept that can be applied in the first pilot phase and that contributes to the ongoing optimisation of the processes and thus to the achievement of the objectives.
Together with the employees of Theater Basel, EDUCULT will design the dialogue-oriented development over two workshops. In a first objectives-focused workshop, impact dimensions are defined and the basis for the development of a Theory of Change is laid down. In a second workshop, evaluation methods are developed which can be implemented in the pilot phase of the new art education division.
At the end of the project, a proposal for an individual evaluation concept will be submitted to Theater Basel. This concept will draw on co-creative methods of self- and third-party evaluation and can be implemented in the ongoing operation.
