ANDERS:GLEICH
Global social upheavals, polarisation and ongoing conflicts – such as in the Middle East or Ukraine – do not leave young people untouched. The greater the social, political, ethnic or religious proximity and sensitivity, the greater the emotional impact. In this regard, social media, family influences and peer groups play a central and at the same time ambivalent role: they offer orientation and support, but can also reinforce polarisation, prejudice and demarcation. The project ANDERS:GLEICH (Different:Equal) aims to strengthen egalitarian thinking, reduce prejudices and minimise the risk of radicalisation. It promotes an open, pluralistic and democratic society based on the values of human rights.
Through experience-orientated activities, interactive methods and practical experiences, young participants learn to develop tolerance, empathy and democratic thinking. The project creates spaces for self-reflection in which young people are encouraged to critically scrutinise their own thought patterns and attitudes. The aim is to recognise and embrace the equality of all people and to perceive plurality as a strength and opportunity for society.
