SAG’S MULTI! 2021/22
Multilingual Rhetoric Contest
Summary
This speech competition allows students, in 7th year and beyond, and with or without migration background, to use and strengthen their linguistic and cultural diversity. Our experiences over the last few years have shown us that participants are able to strengthen their cultural awareness through these public speech contests. The young participants return to school more confident and with important experiences under their belt!
The participating students give short speeches focusing on one of the potential themes, putting their rhetorical abilities to the test. During their speeches, students must switch between their first/ mother tongues and a second language. Examples of second languages that students can use include Turkish, Serbian, Chinese, English, Arabic, and others, which then need to be switched with German. The jury will consider the students’ abilities both in German and in their second language of choice.
