About crying and laughing – Class struggle in an unjustly conditioned Europe
It must have been something big that happened. More than 50 heads of states who in another situation wouldn’t have feared open confrontation, stood side by side with each other while staging unity against terror. Separated from the state leaders another 1,5 million people demonstrated their „unité nationale“.

JOBLINGE
EDUCULT was commissioned with the evaluation of the culture and sports programme of the Joblinge gAG FrankfurtRheinMain. The evaluation aims at gathering data on the effect of the programme on the participants and will support its further development. We are looking forward to this collaboration!

Brokering Migrants´ Cultural Participation
MCP Broker is a European project aimed to enhance and stimulate the cultural participation of migrants by improving the capacity of their local cultural public institutions to interact with them. During the first months of the project implementation a benchmarking system has been developed in cooperation with our partners. Based on this EDUCULT has conducted a national pilot study on diversity management in cultural institutions in Austria.

Evaluation of kulturen in bewegung
From January to June 2015, EDUCULT evaluates “kulturen in bewegung”, the culture programme of VIDC (Vienna Institute for International Dialogue and Cooperation). In this, we focus on the question: How do artists and partners assess kulturen in bewegung?

Home
The final meeting of the project with all the involved groups from Miskolc, Budapest and Berlin took place in Budapest in December 2014. The formats presented at the meeting varied from a guerilla poster campaign on homelessness, a city tour to raise awareness on the eviction of Roma populated streets in Miskolc to an election simulation. A debate theatre on the participation of young people in politics was led by Krétakör. EDUCULT has written the evaluation report based on a formative evaluation process.

"SAG'S MULTI!" – Multi Lingual Rhetoric Contest 2014/15
The two preliminary and nine regional competitions are over and after many discussions and difficult decisions among juries, 99 talented speakers are preparing their final speeches for “SAG’S MULTI!” 2014/15. Again they will proove their skills in the oncoming three final rounds in Vienna. Feel free to visit us and convince yourself of the youth’s multilingual talent!

EDUCULT IN EXCHANGE
International Conference "Periphery.Power.Cultural Policy"
On 22nd April 2015 the University for Applied Arts Vienna hosts the international symposium “Periphery.Power.Cultural Policy”. It represents a follow-up to the discussions from last year’s conference entitled "Cultural Policies in Cities" which emphasised the growing importance of cities in power politics. The symposium is repeatedly concepted by Michael Wimmer, director of EDUCULT.

Monitoring National Arts Education Systems
On 27th and 28th February 2015 the International Network for Arts Education Research (INRAE) is planning an international meeting of experts in Utrecht/NL. As part of this event Michael Wimmer is going to give a short lecture on the topic „Questions and Methods of Comparative Research in the Field of Cultural Education“.

From 14th July to 11th October international artists have the unique opportunity to gain an insightful look into and experience the world behind the scenes of the world-renowned art university as well as to meet and network with other artists, all while expanding individual creative horizons.

Online Publication “Time for Cultural Mediation"
The online publication “Time for Cultural Mediation" was launched by the IAE and Pro Helvetia in March 2013 as a result of the accompanying research of Pro Helvetia’s “Arts and Audience Programme”. The aim of the online publication is to serve as a workbook or a toolkit for the field of practice.

The study „Creating Spaces: Non-Formal Art/s Education and Vocational Training for Artists in Africa between Cultural Policies and Cultural Funding” has been realized by the IAE on behalf of Goethe Institute Johannesburg, South Africa. Download the e-book here.
Conference of the European Sociological Association 2015
The 12th conference of the European Sociological Association 2015 will take place in Prague from Tuesday 25th August to Friday 28th August. The theme for the conference is "Differences, Inequalities and Sociological Imagination".
