Anke Schad-Spindler has been a member of the EDUCULT Executive Board together with Aron Weigl since 2024 and is responsible for scientific management. She has been conducting international research and consultancy projects at the interface between culture and other social fields since 2006 and was already working as a research assistant at EDUCULT in the start-up years 2006-2016. From 2017, she accompanied EDUCULT as part of the board. Between 2016-2023, she dedicated herself to self-employment in the field of contract-based evaluation/impact research and process support and founded her own company. In 2020-2022 she was also employed as a post-doctoral researcher at the Institute of Political Science at the University of Vienna. She is a lecturer at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, speaker and moderator.
Her dissertation at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna on Cultural Governance in Austria was awarded a state prize/Award of Excellence in 2019. Her current research interests include impact analyses of programmes and projects, international cultural work in conflict contexts, cultural (policy) and democratic development as well as cultural policy governance and cultural funding.
Anke Schad-Spindler is Chair of the Cultural Diversity Advisory Board of the Austrian UNESCO Commission and part of the policy group of the D/Arts Network for Diversity and Urban Dialogue. She is a member of DeGEval.
