Samuel Linus Gromann

Samuel Linus Gromann was born in Vienna Austria, in 1994 and currently lives and works in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. He has studied at the University of Applied Arts Vienna under Hans Schabus and at Städelschule, under Judith Hopf. Gromann’s practice considers the significance of collective imagery, which is rooted deeply in the cinematic realm. Gromann’s work questions the utilization of images that shape storytellings and narrative entanglements of the everyday life. While often making use of transparent materials such as acrylic glass, therefore forming an uncanny juxtaposition between the physical space and the imaginary world the work implies. He has exhibited works in Austria, Germany, Sweden, US and Australia, with institutions such as Alyssa Davis Gallery (US), Kettelvik’s Stenmuseum (SE) and Gärtnergasse (AT).
