Mediation in Museums?
EDUCULT organised a round table about mediation in Viennese museums.
It was an informal gathering between mediators; an opportunity to exchange thoughts and develop new ideas.
We started from a thesis and a small scale study by Myrthel Van Etterbeeck: the first was a comparison between the Kunsthistorisches Museum and the Antwerp museum for fine arts, and the second had the Mediation in Viennese Museums as theme. Based on the conclusions of these studies we ask ourselves:
Who should be the target groups of Viennese museums?
How can a museum provide quality in the offer for these groups?
And what are the foundations of a good mediation service?
