Workshop: Social Change through Arts Education?
Ein Workshop im Rahmen des Erasmus+-Projekts Projekts URB_ART
In urban space, different social groups interact with each other – this creates challenges but also opportunities for different communities across social spheres. How can cultural educators and artists play a role in this transformation process by bringing diverse people into contact with each other?
As part of the Erasmus+ project URB_ART, EDUCULT together with partner organisations has developed an In-Service Training Package for Urban Arts Education, which is now being implemented in a pilot workshop in Vienna with stakeholders and interested people. The training package is aimed at actors and practitioners from the fields of arts and education who seek to integrate urban cultural education as a tool for community development, especially in marginalised communities, and to raise awareness of the integrative power of urban cultural education through theory and practice.
At the workshop “Social Change through Arts Education?” we will look at how urban arts education can provide impetus for social change. In addition to evidence-based content, the programme will include good practice examples from across Europe, additional learning resources and practical activities. We hope to stimulate conversations and ideas about how your work can bring people from different backgrounds and life stories together and create connections between them.
The free workshop will take place on 10 June at 14:00-17:00 at the EDUCULT office at Museumsplatz 1, 1070 Vienna. For registration or further questions please send an email to registration(at)educult.at.
