Processuality, action orientation, interdisciplinary organisational structures and acceptance of the existing diversity are indispensable areas in the educational system. In this context, the link with art and culture opens up a wide range of opportunities for all actors. The broad field of arts education, for example, provides teachers and students with the opportunity to develop their skills.
Barbara Urban, MEd has been School Quality Manager at the Directorate of Education for Vienna since 08/2021. Before that, she was headmistress of the Reformpädagogische Volksschule Karl Löwe Gasse in Vienna for nine years. Barbara Urban has been a member of the management team of the Forum Kulturelle Bildung Wien / Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Bildnerische Erziehung (ZAG/BE) in the Viennese education sector since 2013. The focus on meeting existing necessities in the education system with innovation and openness determines her daily actions in the professional field. She is highly committed to a wide range of cooperations (national and international) and to the field of cultural education in school management processes.
