Aron Weigl has been EDUCULT’s Executive Director since 2018 and was previously a research associate at the institute. Since 2024, he has been Co-Executive Director of EDUCULT together with Anke Schad-Spindler and is primarily responsible for concept development, evaluation and consulting in the areas of cultural policy and arts education.
He studied cultural studies and aesthetic practice and business administration at the University of Hildesheim and holds a doctorate in cultural policy. His research includes the conceptualisation and management of cultural programmes and organisations, funding systems, cultural participation, international cooperation and transcultural education. He regularly works in an evaluative and advisory capacity for city administrations, ministries, foundations, cultural organisations and umbrella organisations.
Aron Weigl is a member of the scientific advisory board of the International Conference for Cultural Policy Research (ICCPR) and Austria‘s representative in the European Network of Observatories in the Field of Arts and Cultural Education (ENO).
