ONLINE Summer Academy of Kobe University/Japan 2020
In September 2020 a group of students from Kobe University/Faculty of Global Human Sciences will participate in the Summer Academy organised by EDUCULT. Due to the current situation regarding COVID-19, the Summer Academy will be held online this year.
In various workshops, lectures and virtual visits the students will talk to representatives of different cultural institutions in Vienna. Artistically colourful and diverse in the field between high culture and community-based, participatory offers, Vienna can point out numerous tasks in the field of cultural participation that have been and still have to be mastered. The aim of this virtual journey is to explore regional and international similarities and differences in cultural policy issues and implementation possibilities in a cultural exchange.
Under the topic “Culture in Times of COVID-19: Challenges for cultural management and cultural policy in demographically and politically changing environments”, students will gain insights into the local art and cultural scene from a cultural policy, mediation, organisational and curatorial perspective. The topic of the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on art and cultural policy will be dealt with from a broader societal perspective, also with regard to the role of the cultural sector in dealing with social changes and cultural participation.
EDUCULT conceives and organises this year’s programme of the Summer Academy in Vienna and is looking forward to exciting discussions and insights!
