In addition to analysing the project documentation, EDUCULT conducted a series of interviews to assess the impact of the Creative Hubs. These included interviews with civil society organisations and artists and cultural workers in Yemen who benefited from the project. The data collection has been completed and is currently being analyzed.
Since 2022, the Goethe-Institut Jordan – funded by the European Union – has been implementing the Yemen Creative Hubs project. The overarching goal of these activities is to support cultural infrastructure and peace processes in Yemen. Cultural civil society organisations (CSOs) and other actors are to be empowered to participate effectively in gender-responsive development and peace processes in Yemen and thus contribute to overcoming the effects of the humanitarian crisis and the sense of loss of Yemeni civil society and social cohesion. This evaluation aims to analyse the concept of the Yemen Creative Hubs as well as the implementation and results of the activities. The aim is to analyse the changes at a societal level that are triggered or promoted by the implemented measures and thus the influence of the project on the civil society situation in Yemen.
The evaluation is based on a Logframe. In addition to project documentation, the analysis primarily includes qualitative interviews with project participants and beneficiaries.
